Lou and Tessa on Video...Again

After a very messy dinner, Tessa played in just a diaper for the rest of the evening. Here's what happens when you mix Tessa, Lou, and a balloon. Fun times!

New Words and Other Happenings

Tessa has really started to mimic us, or at least attempt to copy one word per sentence. Yesterday she said "baby", she had been trying for a few days, but it kept coming out bae. The other new word is Mickey...she says "Mii"...and man does she like the fact that she can say Mii. We had a babysitter last night and we got Tessa a new Mickey DVD to watch while she was here, she LOVED it! And woke up requesting "Mii" this morning.

Other new words she says, "coo coo" = choo choo, banana, "aaap" = apple, bye bye, "hehwo" = hello, go go go (she often shouts this at Louie when she wants him to come to her).

Tessa loves to play hide/seek...or more like, she goes to hide in her closet and will come out when she is ready to be found. And making tents (another word she can say) is a favorite activity.

We've also been trying to get her sit and color and stick stickers more often. She generally does very well with it, and only needs the occasional reminder that these things don't belong in her mouth. I'm planning on scanning some of her "pictures" so hopefully I can post them soon.

The other big news around here is she has finally transitioned to 1 nap. Most days she is still tired around 10:30, but we can usually keep her from falling asleep until 12:30/1:00. And she is much happier to take just 1. And sleeping later in the morning is always a plus!

And I think spring is finally thinking about making an appearance in the Mid-Atlantic. We still have piles of snow, but hopefully after a series of 55 degree days the snow will be gone til next winter. Tessa has loved to go to the playground near our house, and squeals with delight when she sees the slides, swings, monkey bars, etc.

Lastly, we joined the Y, and have been taking Tessa to the "Child Watch" area there. She does really well being left alone, we're very lucky, and I don't expect it to last forever. She plays happily, most of the time by herself, while I run on the treadmill. I'm hoping to run outside more now that the weather is warming up, but will probably still try to take her once a week so she will hopefully continue to be ok with being without me.

And here are some recent pictures:
Playing in boxes is lots of fun!
