Scooting Around

Needless to say I finally got around to ordering the "pen/superyard" that will hopefully contain Tessa for a little while.

Croup

Sunday morning Tessa had a runny nose. By Sunday evening we were taking her to Patient First (basically a clinic). By Sunday night she was being admitted to the hospital. Usually after a treatment or two of a nebulizer (with some sort of epinephrine) and some steroids symptoms lessen. Well not for Tessa, so we had to stay over night. She ended up getting 8 treatments with the nebulizer...poor thing. It did help her with her breathing, and she would stop making horrific sounds, but it has some sort of adrenaline in it which would cause her heart rate to spike and she couldn't sleep. Needless to say it was a really long night. And by the end of it she could barely pick her head up because she was so tired.

Her last treatment was at 8AM yesterday, and thankfully I was able to get them to put off the subsequent ones because she was sleeping so soundly. (During the night she would be sleeping and they'd do the treatment anyway, and then she would be AWAKE for a long time.) So we spent the day just trying to get her to rest and not get worked up.

Last night we were able to bring her home, with orders to come back if she started up again (croup is worst at night). Luckily she slept almost through the whole night and we didn't have to go back.

Skyping

Our new "thing" is skyping with relatives. We got a webcam and have been trying it out. So far we've skyped with both grandmothers and one great-grandmother! Lots of fun for all!

Tessa has a runny nose :( but she's taking it like a champ!

We've had a few nights in a row of sleeping through the night so hopefully this trend will continue.

Pictures soon...

Lots of New Stuff

Teeth
Yesterday, while feeding Tessa, I saw a speck of white in her mouth...weird only because it was on the top. I've been looking at her bottom gums for a week or so waiting for the second tooth to pop through. But apparently while I wasn't paying attention she got a tooth on the top! And the other three on the top are right there waiting to come in as well...so pretty soon she'll have a mouth full of teeth!

Sleep/Sitting Up
Tessa went to bed at 9:00 last night and didn't wake up until I'm not sure when...I woke up at 7:00 and looked at the video monitor and she was sitting up in her bed!! It was quite cute to watch her! She was still so tired, her body was bobbing back and forth, I don't think she could figure out how to lie down again. After a few minutes she put her head next to her feet, yes she still had her tush on the ground. She fell asleep like this...eventually got one leg free, but the other one was stuck under her for a good 20 minutes or so.

I'm so glad I have the video monitor!!! This was a much nicer way to wake up, as opposed to screaming at 5:00AM...so maybe its the start of something new. Although I doubt it since we are traveling to CT tonight and therefore expecting her to sleep in a pack 'n play...

Hope to post pictures and maybe a video later.

Oh yeah, I got a webcam so if anyone wants to see Tessa using Skype let me know.

Pictures from My Cell Phone

The three of us went out to dinner for sushi tonight. Tim and I were prepared to hold Tessa for most of the dinner. However she was GREAT. She sat in the highchair the whole time. She loved slapping the table and staring at the guys behind us (I told her she was being nosy/rude and needed to turn around, she didn't listen). We're thinking we might try taking her out again soon, but I'm not sure she'll ever be as well behaved as she was tonight!

Warm weather in MD

Today we had temps in the 70s, unfortunately it was overcast. However we still took full advantage of the nice weather. Two walks with Lou, one to the playground to go on the swings/slide. A run for Tim. A run for Dara. Some yardwork. And dinner on the deck. Doesn't get much better.

Tessa playing in the pack 'n play in the front yard.

Dinner on the deck, the first of many times this year....

Tessa Swimming in NC

Tessa wasn't too impressed by the pool at first.
But after moving around a bit in the pool she was all smiles!
More NC pictures to come soon...

Tasty Things

And an unrelated picture, Tessa is learning to make raspberry sounds...

Weight Check

Today Tessa had a drs appt, just to get some shots, and she now weighs in at 19lbs and is 26 inches. Just about 75th percentile in both.

We are busy getting ready for our trip to NC tomorrow. Tim's going for work and Tessa and I are tagging along. We will get to see my childhood friends A & P, as well as A's little boy whose about 2 months older than Tessa. We're hoping she watches his crawling and figures out how to take off on her own.

These days she is super squirmy and definitely prefers to be playing, so I can only imagine what she's going to be like when she's actually mobile. I can't wait! I know I'm nuts, and I'm going to spend my days chasing her around, but it will be cute!

I've got some cute videos and pictures...if I have time to post them later I will. Otherwise when we get back from NC I'm sure we'll have LOTS of new pics.

Spotted a Tooth and Lots to Babble About

Well after months and months of drool there is actually a tooth poking through...now how long will it take to actually come in, who knows. Tessa has been slightly crankier than normal, which is obviously not too fun. But she is also super talkative...VERY cute!
