We're Home and Busy

After a longer than expected stay in Milford we are now home. Tim and his family were lucky enough to score Monster Seat tickets to the Red Sox game on Tuesday night, so we stayed for that. I was lucky enough to go shopping with my mom and buy LOTS of essentials (and of course a few non-essential things).

Louie is happy to be home and has been sleeping since pretty much when we got in the house yesterday evening.

I've started to put together all the baby gear. Lou is not so sure about all the bells, whistles, and lights. So far he has just been overly curious, not destructive. We'll see what happens when he gets a minute or two by himself with some of her cute fluffy toys.

Update on the furniture - crib, rails, and glider/ottoman will be delivered on July 2nd. Dresser (what we're using as changing table) not until late July ??? Oh well at least we can start to get her room setup.

Tim just came home with a new toy for Lou, squeaks-and-everything. So hopefully he'll just play with that and nothing else.

Pictures to come soon.

Trip Home Part 2 - Baby Shower

My mother and mother-in-law hosted a great baby-shower-luncheon for us on Saturday! We are so lucky and so thankful!! The weather cooperated and it wasn't too hot or too cold.
The shower was coed, so no one was exactly sure how that was going to go...however I've never seen men so excited about "swaddle me" blankets. Everyone played "Baby Bingo" while I opened presents, and some people got quite competitive!!

We got lots of great presents and can happily say we're getting more prepared for this little girl.
Some Pictures from the Week

We'll be in Milford until Wednesday as Tim, Kevin, Dan, Susan, and Mark are going to the Red Sox game Tuesday night (Kev got Monster Seats!!).

Trip Home Part 1

Louie and I left MD last Tuesday morning for MA. Lou is great to drive with since he just sleeps the whole time. We had no traffic and made it to White Plains, NY in record time. We stopped there to see an old Citigroup friend, and two of her cute kids.
The twins are just over a year old, and quite cute! However they weren't too keen on Lou, so he had to spend most of the visit in the car. Lou didn't mind though, he just napped some more.
The rest of the trip, from NY to MA, was full of lots of traffic, oh well I guess thats to be expected.

On Wednesday morning, Lou got to meet Henry (Susan's black lab puppy). The two of them were funny together. Lou showed off his frisbee catching obsession and Henry his tail chasing ability.
Later on that night, Lou got to play again, this time with Fenway (the Smith's dog). This was hilarious!! Hopefully they send pictures soon so I can upload those too.

30 Week Appt

No big news. The doc was impressed that I'm not a swollen mess, and thinks I might escape the dreaded "cankles" (fingers crossed). He said to "Keep doing what you're doing." So for now I guess that means going for 4 mile walks and dragging Lou with me (he gets overheated before we're even down our street).

I'm trying really hard to be patient with the furniture delivery. As of yet it still looks like its not going to be here until sometime in July. I would REALLY like to get started on her room, now that school is out and I have nothing else to do...

I have discovered the greatness of books on CD, currently I'm listening to "The Last Summer (of You and Me)". And on the trip home next week I'm hoping to get through "The Measure of a Man" by Sidney Poitier.

And now for the "Belly Picture" that everyone has been waiting for...here ya go...

(taken today at 30 weeks 2 days)

School is OUT!

Today was my last day of school. Completely uneventful. As opposed to last year where I had been counting down for so many days, this year was very easy. I can't believe the year is over. And that its summer. And more importantly it is time for me to get going on this little girl's room. Although I say that I fully anticipate putting things off for another two weeks until I get back from MA. Hopefully by then the crib will be here (probably not) and I can figure out what I want to do.

And in cooler news, its only 86 degrees here today! With no humidity!! I'm off to the NCR trail to take a long walk and hopefully keep stretch marks away.

Diabetes - Not for me

Last Friday I took the sugar test. The drink wasn't as bad as I had heard, still not great though. Total weight gain to this point -> 11lbs. We'll see how much that goes up these next few weeks!

Amy, Kevin, and Kerry came for the weekend. We were super lucky and got to be at the game where Manny hit his 500th homerun!!! There were a few pictures taken, once I get them off my camera I'll be sure to post.

5 more days of school!

The hunt for a part-time nanny is on, although its a very slow and so far unrewarding search.
