Mary Poppins Sing-a-Long

Tessa loved it! About 45 minutes in I googled the running time. 2 hours 20 minutes...about 2 hours too long for Caroline. She ate a LOT of popcorn.

Another tooth

Colin is cutting tooth number 3. Maybe he will sleep better once its in?!?!

The Bubba Fairy

The Bubba fairy came and took Caroline's pacifiers. Lots of sobbing at nap time. But thankfully at bedtime she went happily to sleep. And hasn't been up since...

Colin just took 6 steps!?!?!

Oh boy...I was hoping I had a little more time...

And here he is with our Christmas tree. A gate/enclosure of some sort will clearly be necessary...

Big Girl bed!

I took the front off Caroline's crib and turned it into a toddler bed. Surprisingly she was very excited! She usually hates change, but this one has been welcomed with enthusiasm! She knows she can get in and out...but hasn't tried to get out at nap/bed time...yet. It's only a matter of time.

She loves it when I let Colin sit in there too. And he is generally thrilled with the idea as well.

5k fit challenge

Tim and I did a 5k obstacle course. It was a fun afternoon with friends!

A little laundry fun

Everyone swings

Birthday party

This was taken pre-party. Hopefully I'll be able to upload some actual party pictures. A great time was had by all!

Cousin Jude!

Jude and Colin! Quite the size difference now. With Jude only 3.5 months younger than Colin it will be so fun to see them grow up together.

Enjoying vacation

It's been HOT. So we spent the morning in air conditioning burning off some energy.

Yum yum yum

Colin tries to grab my food all the time. This time I let him suck on the apple...he was in heaven.

Nap time at the beach

We are down in Newport with grampa and crew for the week.

The beach with Colin and 90+ heat has turned out to be less than fulfilling.

Update on Colin

Colin is the happiest little guy...as long as he is not tired...then he is cranky cranky.

He loves to smile and has started to really chuckle, which is cute to hear. He nurses every 2 hours or so during the day...and sometimes at night...some nights he will sleep for 5-6 hours but those nights are rare. He seems to have reflux pretty bad but it doesn't really upset him. I do think sometimes that's what wakes him up in the middle of the night...and he is already inclined in a swing so I'm sort of at a loss as to what to do. More and more lately he's been spitting up threw his nose, the poor guy. But he doesn't really cry about it, more just seems annoyed. Something to discuss with the doctor in a month.
Colin is starting to grab for toys and loves his mobile. He likes to be held facing forward in he bjorn. Car rides are no longer peaceful, he screams just like the girls did. Hopefully in a month or so when he can hold a toy better he will stop screaming so much.
He had his first taste of food. While I was on the phone with the orthopedist for Caroline he was crying. Caroline took her banana and put it in his mouth. He stopped crying. She was so pleased with herself. Thankfully he didn't choke as she had the entire banana in her hand, and not a little piece. I have since talked to her about teeth and that he can't have any more food for a while.

The broken leg

3 weeks ago Caroline jumped off the couch and landed the wrong way. She screamed. I was just getting home so I held her and talked to her for a while...she was sweaty and really upset. Very unlike her. After I calmed her down I had her stand on the floor so I could get Colin out of his carseat to feed him. Her leg collapsed. She fell on the ground screaming again. She did it a few more times so we called the after hours number for the pediatrician. They said to take her to the ER. At the ER they took X-rays but couldn't see a fracture. They said if she was still not walking the next day to follow up with her pediatrician. So the next day, Friday. I called the pediatrician when she still couldn't walk. A quick visit there and they said to wait the weekend. Monday she still wasn't walking so I called an orthopedist. After a quick visit there they said she may have injured her growth plate she should start walking in 2-3 weeks. Two weeks and two days after she fell she started walking...but with a limp. She limped for 5 days so I took her back to the orthopedist. He said...oh she must have had a hairline fracture that the X-rays didn't catch. She will likely limp for a few more weeks while the bone finishes healing and could fatigue easily for a few months. I made him repeat the "few months". Lets hope it's not really that long.
I think all in all I'm glad she was never casted because that would have just been a bigger pain. I think they would have and maybe should have casted her but she couldn't tell us where it hurt exactly (she pointed to her thigh) and had full range of motion. Oh and maybe the fact that we was the happiest kid ever...
She crawled for 2 weeks...not ideal when you are used to playgrounds and play dates. But boy was it nice to know she couldn't run away!!
Hopefully in a few weeks this will all be a thing of the past.

Stronger and stronger

Colin admittedly does not spend a whole lot of time on his belly...it doesn't seem to matter, the few times I've put him down lately he can hold his head up high for a long time!

Nana!
