"Walking" and Eating Vidoes

Tessa loves it when we hold her hands and walk her around the house. She especially likes it when Lou is her target destination. And she loves Lou's toys. I'm pretty sure that she'll be motivated to crawl most by trying to get his toys...

She has also started to eat bananas...she LOVES them! She clearly doesn't have the "open your mouth" part down yet, as there is still a lot of tongue action. But she actually does swallow quite a bit of them.

As of yet bananas are the only thing she really likes...hopefully we'll be able to get her to eat some veggies soon too!

"Pancake" Flipping

Ok so we're not flipping pancakes...we're flipping Tessa. Yup this has been going on for weeks. It used to be that Tessa would only fall asleep on her own when on her belly, a big "no-no" until the baby can safely roll back and forth on their own. So I used to put Tessa in her bed awake, and let her fall asleep on her belly, and then go back in 20-30 minutes later and flip her over onto her back. Yes this is ridiculous I know. One of the issues that happened, of course, was that every once and a while she would wake up, and I'd have to repeat the process...not fun. And this also meant that if she woke up in the middle of the night, screaming, I'd have to do the same thing.

Well lately, like the last week or so, Tessa has been putting herself to sleep on her back so I thought the flipping was over. But its not...now because she's become such a "rolling-queen" she wakes up and rolls on her belly...and then screams! Again, this results in "flipping-the-pancake" over so she can go back to sleep. Last night Tim had the pleasure of doing this at 2:10AM.

I really don't understand why this happens. Tessa is more than capable of rolling both ways now...so why does she get stuck? I guess it doesn't really matter. For now we'll just keep flipping her over.

When I talked to the pediatrician about this "sleeping issue" she said well if its not the rolling it will be something else. She'll be trying to pull herself up on the crib, or stand up.

So I guess I'm not getting sleep for a long time.

Bathtime Comparison

First Bath:

Last Night:

Bathing Beauty

I bought Tessa a bathing suit at babyGap today for our trip to Florida in April...maybe it will fit, maybe it won't...

Dr Appt Update

Yesterday Tessa had her very late 4 month appt. This was rescheduled since we were in MA when she turned 4 months.

Weight: 17 lbs 7 oz (above 75th percentile) ... 18 lbs is a LOT to carry around!!
Height: 25.5 in (between 50th and 75th percentile)

The doctor was impressed that Tessa could sit so well! And said I could lay off trying to feed her solid food for a few more weeks. This was good news as its not a lot of fun force feeding her and then having her gag it back up.

Not much else happened at the appt. We have to go back in 6 weeks so we can catch Tessa up on her immunizations. Hopefully by then she is eating solid foods, and sleeping through the night (yeah right...wishful thinking on my part).

Here's a cute picture of Tessa from her baptism:

Tessa is getting good at rolling belly -> back! And today rolled back -> belly, and then tried to take a nap on her mat...however Lou was way too hyper and she couldn't close her little eyes. I was really hoping she would take a nap there as it would have made for a cute picture. Oh well, she ended up with an hour and a half nap in her crib!!

More pictures soon.

Tessa is Growing Up

Some cute 9 month pjs that Tessa got for Christmas...these are much needed as the 6 month pjs are way too short!
We put Tessa's highchair together today, and she actually swallowed some food (and didn't then gag it back up). So progress is being made. Here she's eating some oatmeal and bananas. She also had sweet potatoes and pears today!
Look at the CHUBBY CHEEKS!
She still loves to play on her mat! Tessa is getting much better at sitting up, she still tips over often but we're working on it!

And after a long day of playing, who wouldn't be a little tired!

Tessa's Baptism

She was such a cute baby!!! (I know I'm biased) Unfortunately I was not a good mom and took very few pictures (and none at the church). I have gotten some from people and I know others have more, so hopefully they'll send them to me soon so I can post them.
Here are a few:

Tessa is 5 Months Old!

I can't believe it! I tell her daily that she needs to slow down and stop growing up so fast!!

She still loves Louie! He is still not that impressed with her...maybe someday he will love her too!

Not a whole lot has changed. She doesn't sleep through the night, or eat any food. Obviously I would love if these things would change, but I've resigned myself to the fact that they will happen at some point. I often think, everyone learns to eat...right? Yes even Tessa will have to learn to swallow food!

This week we don't have much going on, and I vow to not leave the house again until the temperatures rise above freezing!

Tim got me the Wii Fit for my birthday so we've been having fun doing all kinds of different exercises. Tessa likes the lady on there and can often be heard talking back to the lady.

The thing that has probably changed the most in the last few days/weeks is the amount of sounds/noises that Tessa makes. When she wakes up from a nap we can hear her cooing over the monitor, and making all kinds of interesting humming sounds. Very cute!

And now for the pictures...

It's Been a While

Tessa is growing up fast! She loves her jumper and is starting to learn to turn the seat by herself.
Some very generous people got me a sewing machine...my first big project is to make a dress/bonnet/bloomers for Tessa. I'm hoping it will be for Easter...we'll see how quickly I can sew. Here's the fabric I picked.
Before I start the dress I am going to make Tessa a quilt for her doll bed. I figure this is a good "small" project to refresh the little memory I have of sewing.
On Friday, Tessa and I are driving to CT. Tim will meet us there as he's in Portland, OR for work. Hopefully the drive up isn't too terrible...I'm not sure how she'll do, there could be lots of stopping if she's wailing.
Sunday is Tessa baptism, the reason for the drive north, and we can't wait to see our families again (even though its only been two weeks)!
In other news, Tim and I are starting to get our house ready to put it on the market in March or so. Hopefully it won't take too long to get ready or sell (wishful thinking I know). The plan is to move back up to MA/CT if/when the townhouse sells.
