No School...And Cooking Class Update

No school today, a little snow and projected ice. So I'm home again today. Now I'm really dreading June! Tim's hoping the wrestling tournament will still happen tomorrow, as it was canceled for tonight.

Cooking class - the class is being held at Parkville, so its a bunch of teachers and other employees. We made meatloaf and beef Wellington. We're going to try the meatloaf tonight...not sure we'll ever attempt the wellington, as there are LOTS of steps. It was cool to watch the chef cutting up all the vegetables and everything. Learned lots about knives, pans, and general kitchen gadgetry.

14 weeks pregnant today. I'm feeling pretty good, I can now go in the grocery store without feeling as though I may gag, so that's an improvement. I'm hoping to wait another month or so before having to wear maternity clothes. So I am constantly trying to heed the doctors warning of allowing myself to be hungry,

Not much else is new, we head home to Mass next weekend. Should be a good time, we haven't been there in FOREVER!

No School Again Today (President's Day)

Well I finished cleaning out the spare bedroom that will become the baby's room. And our cleaners are going to take the old furniture, so that will completely empty out the room.

Then since it was 65-70 and sunny, I decided to take Lou for a 4.5 mile walk. He is in desperate need of any kind of physical activity. Well we got about 1.5 out and I thought about turning back because the sky was turning from nice blue sky to dark gray clouds. But I decided against it, and figured we'd be able to make it back before the rain started. Well this didn't happen, when we were about 2 miles into the loop it started sprinkling...ok no big deal, it was still warm out. About a mile later its pouring, and Lou and I running down the street. All the while I'm trying to hold my pants up because they are soaked in rain and hanging off my waste. I'm sure it was quite cute! But Lou did have a good time, so I guess thats all that matters. We got home fine, with just a little "poo" that needed to be cleaned off Lou's legs (that's Tim's job)...not sure how he manages to do this.

And I've spent most of the rest of the day procrastinating. Tomorrow I have an observation with the principal, dept head, etc. Its no big deal, this is my 3rd out of 4. I'm not concerned just not completely ready yet. But I think I'll continue to put off working on that for a while.

Oh yeah, cooking class starts tomorrow night, and we're both going, it should be humorous!

Our weekend...

Saturday - the most boring day of our lives. We are used to having lots of stuff going on, or at least something. The not drinking thing has put a crimp in our small social life in Maryland. Not a lot of fun.

Sunday - we went and checked out a new place for Lou to stay while we're away. We're going home in two weeks and our normal kennel (think large farm, with the nicest lady ever) is closed for the weekend. So Tim's been on the hunt for a new place. The lady we went to see was "ok", I said to Tim as we were leaving, "I would never leave my kid there, but I guess the dog is ok." It's just not a very clean house. But the lady has two nice golden's that Lou can play with, and a backyard (think mud pit). So it is better than putting him in a standard kennel where he'd have to stay in a crate all day. I'm sure he'll be treated fine, and its only for 2 days.

This did lead me to the realization that we're going to have a hard time finding a babysitter. We don't know a whole lot of people here, and definitely not people that would want to watch our kid. It'll be interesting, but luckily we don't have to worry about that until many months from now.

No School

Yup we've got some ice here, so no school today. Not really what I wanted, but oh well. Just means another day in June...when I'm larger, and not in the mood for the 90-100 degree heat.

Bought the CR-V

Will I ever be this skinny again?

This was taken the morning after our wedding...I really hope some day I'll be that thin. Depressing to know it will not happen for a while.

Buying a Car...Decisions...Decisions

So on the way to work on Monday, my Jeep decided it no longer wanted me to use the heat. Well that was great, since it was 9 degrees out. Needless to say we are not willing to spend money to get the Jeep fixed (in the summer we said "No more"). So last night we went to the Honda and Toyota dealerships, test-driving the CR-V and the RAV4. Now comes the tough part, deciding between the two.

The RAV4 now comes in a 6 cylinder (and for those who know how I like to drive you can see why I'd be interested) with 269 horsepower. Last night I was leaning towards getting all those extra horses, but after a nights sleep and a little thinking about the possible speeding tickets that could result, I think I've decided against it.

I like the look (inside and out) of the CR-V better, but (think) I could see better out the back of the RAV4. So its back to the dealerships this afternoon to hopefully make a decision.

Can't wait to turn in the "Over-the-hill" Jeep, for something new that will allow me to warm up when its 9 degrees outside!

More later, when hopefully I've bought a new car!!

12 Week Dr Appt

All is good on the baby front.

Today's doctor appointment was VERY easy. Everything is fine. We got to hear the heartbeat which was cool. Tim could hear it right away, I on the other hand took a little more time to figure out what I was supposed to be "listening to".

I told the Dr I didn't want to gain a lot of weight. He was pleased with this. And told me to stay away from friends who tell me "You're eating for two." And that apparently its "ok" to be hungry. And that if I eat til I'm full I'm going to get fat. So let the grumbling stomach begin!

Next appoint is March 7th, and then they'll schedule my sonogram for about 2 weeks later, and we'll hopefully be able to find out the sex then.

Other than that, not much else going on here. I'm looking forward to having Tuesday off (Maryland primaries). These days any little bit of extra sleep is GREAT!!

Spring Cleaning in Feb?

Yup thats how we spent our morning. Trying to get rid of lots of sh*t. The idea was we needed to clean out one of the extra bedrooms so we can turn it into the baby's room. Yes, I do have at least 6 more months before I have to worry about this...but of course decided it needed to be done this weekend. No actually today. (Tim wasn't thrilled with the idea...he had planned a much lazier day)

And I decided that bikes no longer belong in the office...this is the problem with having a townhouse with no garage...bikes end up in offices. I managed to clean out some other closets (making big trash and give-away piles) and fit the bikes in the closet. Now one would think that I should be much happier, but the basement at this point was a complete disaster!

Cut to 1:30, when I've been cleaning for 4 hours, and have at least 4 more to go...what am I doing? Napping, yup I decided it was time for a nice long nap.

Post nap, I managed to finish the rest, so we can at least walk around in the basement. Still need to schedule salvation army to come pick up our furniture (the amount is growing!! makes me happy...not so much Tim). And bring the bags of books to the book swap. But basically I'm done.

The funniest part of the day was when I found my stuffed monkey "Monchichi". Now the fact that I still have the monkey is great, but the fact that Lou was petrified of it, was even funnier. I don't know if he's really ever seen a stuffed animal before. Needless to say he didn't like Monchichi, there was lots of running away, and scared barking. Good times.

Now I can spend tomorrow doing nothing!

Lou's New Toy...

So I taught Louie to jump through the hoop...

The first time...I think it was a little high.

So now Lou's a little scared to go through it again.

And now here's what Lou would rather do with the hula-hoop...
