Lou's First Swim Class

Yes, we took Lou to an indoor swimming pool for dogs only. The reason we did this is because Lou loves to chase dogs/balls in and out of the water, but many of times he gets out so far that we're afraid he's not going to make it back in. He doesn't have a typical "dog swimming stance", as opposed to being almost horizontal, Lou is much closer to vertical. His front paws are way above the water, flailing all over the place, so we're hoping that with a little intervention he can get better at swimming, and stop scaring us...

At the pool, you buy the slots in 15 minute incriments. The first time its recommended that you only get 15 minutes as dogs get tired...not sure if they've met Lou, but we agreed to only buy 15 minutes.

Louie didn't like getting the life jacket put on him, but he accepted it none the less. And although he is typically one to run right into water at a lake/ocean...he was hesitant about the pool. The worker there told us not to worry, and started to drag Lou into the pool, Lou fought it as much as he could but eventually ended up in the pool swimming.

We hope Lou enjoyed his first swim class, and that he learned lots, and we plan to take him back many more times. We'd like him to stop flailing everytime he gets in the water!

And just a side note...15 minutes was NOT enough, Lou was NOT tired at all, next time it'll have to be for 30!
